Microsoft 365​

The actual process of migrating to Microsoft 365 is now seamless to the end user and a repeatable and managed process with a well-defined cost model. The real challenge is managing the readiness criteria and supporting the user base through the change. The approach ensures that we implement effective coexistence so the user base continues to operate with minimal disruption across both on premise and Cloud.

Other readiness criteria include ensuring the on premise environment is effectively patched to support the migration. Sub components are capable of supporting increased Internet traffic and applications mapped to on premise systems and drives are remediated.

Resolving the readiness criteria enables us to focus on the end user, training, communication and ensuring the data in active directory reflects the true user base and supports collaboration.

Infrastructure migration to the Cloud

Our approach to infrastructure migration is to utilise data centre migration tools to ensure the process is seamless from an end user perspective. The tool sets enable us to migrate a service and its sub components as a single migration. The migration process copies and syncs the on premise service to the Cloud followed by test and cut over. As the process is a copy and sync it allows easy rollback to the on premise infrastructure ensuring business continuity at each stage of the process.

Windows 10 Deployment

We have deployed over 8000 Windows 10 end point devices. This will be a key challenge for the industry over the next few years as Windows 7 goes end of extended support on January 14, 2020. Windows 10 requires greater focus on a managed environment to realise the benefits of the new technology and effectively coupling the device through to Microsoft 365.
